[1] We are all exceedingly disappointed by the contents of your Note, but we trust that tomorrow may bring us the promised pleasure, – –. Lady Malcolm begs to offer her best regards and to assure you that she hopes to spend Monday at Bonn. If the weather be not sufficiently fine to admit of walking about, we have no terror of ennui within your walls. Therefore we shall not make our visit depend on the clouds – –
I rejoice to say that Lady Malcolm is much better today – and in better spirits – despite of the weather – all English homes possess keen sympathy with atmospheric influence – –
Mr Hare is absorbed in your Critical Essays – I hope to enjoy them also through [2] his translation – Lady Malcolm hopes that Dr Lassen will accompany you tomorrow –
